Dicksonia antarctica man ferns in Styx State Forest
This is the Styx Valley in Tasmania which has a controversial history between loggers and conservationists. The predominant forest is swamp gum (Eucalyptus regnanas) which are the tallest hardwood trees on the planet, second only to the Californian redwood pine. They are hundreds of years old and reach 90m or more into the sky.
This photo is of the rainforest understory of man ferns (Dicksonia antarctica) which is a remnant rainforest surviving in damp valleys protected from fires.
