Araucaria forest is a typical ecossystem of southern Brazil, characterized for the dominant presence of Araucaria angustifolia in the canopy, today it remains less than 1% of this forest.
Slash and burn is a common method of conversion of tropical forests for areas of agriculture, cattle and forestry.
Deforestation is a main cause of brazilian contribution for global warming.
The location is in Prudentópolis city, Paraná state, Brasil, near of "Nest of the Crow Particular Reserve of the Natural Heritage" (RPPN Ninho do Corvo).
