Araucaria angustifolia, southern Brazil
Araucaria forest, Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. Most of this forest type is destroyed, only small patches exist today. This is Araucaria angustifolia and it only occurs in south eastern Brazilian highlands. Not to be confused with the second South American Araucaria species, A. araucana, which occurs in the far south of Argentina and Chile.
I used to study Carpenter Bees in this wonderful forest in southern Brazil. More than 10 years ago.... Never spent that much time in the clouds ;-) ( Pterodactylus69)
