Early Morning Mist On The Bog River
Early morning mist present during our 5am start. The day only got better with cloudless skies most of the morning leading to a nice mix of clouds and blue sky in the afternoon. Perfect paddling conditions. 75, sun, light variable wind.
We ended up paddling 17 miles Saturday and getting one of the best sites on Lows Lake to boot. Sunday we paddled about 14 miles back out after hiking to the summit of Grass Mountain (panorama to follow) on another exceptional day.
Two consecutive days of fair weather and light winds in the Adirondacks is a rarity. In 5 years of paddling in the Daks I'm not sure we've had this happen more than a few times.
Taking advantage of our meteorological good fortune we were the first paddlers in Saturday and the last out Sunday night (took out at 10pm) under moonlight and headlamps after a pleasant last 3 miles under darkness on a section of the river we know quite well.
