Mt. Adams from Bluff Lake, near Trout Lake, Washington
This is taken on Yakama Nation land... traditional Native American land that surrounded Mt. Adams and is considered sacred by the tribe. In 1972 the US government gave the East half of Mt. Adams (referred to as Tract D) back to the Yakama Nation and they continue to run campgrounds and trails in the area for a fee. This is a subalpine area, and trails lead from the far side of the lake up towards the mountain into the alpine meadows known as Bird Creek Meadows.
